Insurance Sector Disputes Surge by Over 21% in First Quarter Reports

Fresh regulatory data processed by the SAPO Barómetro do Setor dos Seguros reveals that formal complaints against insurance carriers spiked by 21.44% in early reporting periods compared to the previous year. Out of the 1,382 distinct cases filed during the first quarter, core insurance operators represented over 44% of total customer disputes. Compliance and legal accounting teams are experiencing increased operational burdens as they work to address customer friction regarding out-of-pocket costs and reimbursement processing delays.
